Condolences
I fondly remember the McWhinney visits to our farm in Manitoba, when Wilma got to visit with her twin sister Ruth (my mom). I remember her infectious laugh and her pleasant manner. My mom was always the more serious one. When I was a child, Aunt Wilma sent me a silver dollar for my birthday for about 5 or 6 years in a row. I still have them all. I remember her love and concern for her children, both chosen and fostered. She was proud of her years at Zellers, they no doubt helped the family survive and thrive.
Beth and I send our love and best wishes, and pray for God's peace and comfort, as you now carry on with the memories of days gone by.
Cal and Beth Gust
We will always remember Aunt Wilma as a gentle lady who was the perfect soul-mate for our boisterous Uncle Huey. She was the apple of his eye and we know she loved him to the moon and back, even when he got a little out of hand.
She also loved to laugh and we recall the great fun we had travelling with the two of them to a wedding in North Dakota many years ago. While her laughter dampened and disappeared over the years, her calm, gentle demeanor did not. Even when she could no longer communicate verbally, her eyes seemed to say that she was at peace with the world.
With her earthly journey at an end, we join the family to mourn her loss but also to celebrate the life she lived and the eternal life she now has gained.
Sincerely,
Marc and Barb

The tribute of your dear Mom was so beautifully composed.
What a profound and simply interesting life she had filled with much love that was shared with Uncle Hughie and all of you.
Your parents nurtured you with their attributes as their legacy for you to carry on a life as good or better than their's was.
How wonderful to know that they both had such great care in these recent years by Bowview Manor staff.
Those efforts are so reassuring to a family at a time they must travel a new path in life together.
From all of Glenn and Lily McWhinney's family, Leah, Jill, Paul, Jeff and Bruce, please know we are thinking of you and send you our heart felt condolences and love.
