Obituary of Glen Stephens

December 8, 1945 - November 30, 2023

Floyd “Glen” Stephens of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 77 years.

Glen was born at Ibaebin Tida (near Bar U Ranch), Longview, Alberta on December 8, 1945. Glen was known as Chaba to many.  He was a traditional medicine man and pipe carrier.

Glen is survived by a son Kelly (Heather) Poucette, daughters Glenna Powderface and Melvandra (Pierre) Lefthand; a special niece Rexanne (Bernard) Twoyoungmen; special nephews Ronald Jr. (Martina) Poucette, Clint Stevens, and Sherman Rabbit; Adopted daughter Sabrina (Bradley) Lefthand; brothers Virgil Stevens, Audley (Tilda) Stevens, Lenny (Corrina) Wesley, Laurel (Tracey) Wesley; sisters, Phillomene Stevens, Tracey Stevens, Una Wesley, Pauline M Wesley, Virginia Wesley, Reatha Mark; and a special cousin Randy (Moe) Baptiste. Glen also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kelly Jr, Jerrika (Crystal), Alex (Tacey), Dana (Tianna), Kelton, Dallas (Dayle), Mikka, Kialoni, April (Amber), Leland, Jaycee, Kennithi, Marchi, Miranda (Elias), Nichole (Leland), Mattias (Paradise), Sonia, Sierra, Ilya, Harmony, Erza, Anisha, Sara, Era; and over ten great-grandchildren. Glen also leaves behind numerous extended and traditionally adopted family members.

Glen was predeceased by a common law wife, Paula Lightning (2013), his daughter Delina Poucette (2020), granddaughters, Tradena Powderface, Erica Onespot (2019), and Keesha Crawler (2021); grandson Killian Wesley (2022), his Parents, Nora (2014) and John (2005) Stevens; and his best friend Clifford Powderface (2017).

A special thanks to the Home Care and Support staff at the Stoney Health Centre for all the support and services they have provided to Glen.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Glen Stephens, Mini Thni, AB on Tuesday, December 5, 2023

Funeral Service will be celebrated at Mini Thni Gymnasium (Mini Thni, AB) on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow Bearspaw Cemetery (Mini Thni, AB).
