Obituary of Sina Sanaei

November 6, 1996 – Tehran, Iran

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son Sina Sanaei, who passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the age of 27.

Sina was born in Tehran, Iran on November 6, 1996. He then moved to Calgary in 2008 with his parents where he attended Mountain Park Junior High School. Sina then went on to graduate from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 2015.

Sina worked in various jobs while pursuing his music career. He graduated from SAIT with a certificate in Information Technology and worked in two different companies, he also worked as a sales and service agent at WestJet. Although Sina accomplished much through his life, he was particularly proud of his music and songwriting skills. 

Music was the centre of Sina’s world. He managed to reach some big milestones in his music career. He performed in Stampede, alongside his friend Sam whom he worked with closely until his last days. He also released a variety of different songs, with many unfinished. One of his proudest moments in his career was when his song “same love” was played on Radio Javan, a Persian broadcasting radio.

Sina had a profound appreciation for the simple pleasures life had to offer. He loved to have fun and find joy in the little things, reminding everyone to savor the beauty in each passing moment.

He will be most remembered for his infectious laugh that could light up the darkest of days. His joy was contagious, and his sense of humor created an atmosphere of warmth wherever he went. He had an innate ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, leaving everyone with a smile.

Sina will be greatly missed and survived by his loving parents Mehrdad and Mina, as well as all other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on December 9, 2023, from 12:00 – 3:00PM. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home
