Bernardo ‘Ben’ Chiuppi passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at the age of 86 years, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends at the Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta.
Born February 18, 1937 in the picturesque town of Banff, AB, Ben lived a life full of love, laughter, and a passion for both animals and mechanics. Ben was widely known as the best mechanic in Drumheller, with an unwavering dedication to his craft. His skill and expertise were unmatched, and his kind and patient nature endeared him to all who interacted with him. Whether it was fixing a car engine or offering a helping hand, Ben approached every task with a genuine desire to assist others, leaving a lasting impact in his community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ben's greatest joy in life came from his role as a loving father to his three daughters, Traci, Cristi, and Debbie. He was their rock, their guiding light, and their biggest supporter. Ben's selflessness and unconditional love shaped the lives of his daughters, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts. Not only was Ben a devoted father, but he was also an amazing and caring grandfather. He cherished his role as "Grampa”, filling his grandchildren's lives with endless love, laughter, and joyful memories. Whether it was sharing stories, bringing them “Ernie Burgers” for lunch, or simply showering them with affection, Ben made sure that his grandchildren always felt cherished and loved.
In addition to his passion for mechanics, Ben had a deep love for the outdoors and a genuine respect for wildlife. As a compassionate hunter, he understood the importance of conservation and always practiced ethical hunting. His love for animals extended beyond hunting, and he actively participated in support of local animal shelters and organizations. Ben's kind and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on both humans and animals alike. Ben's infectious laughter and witty sense of humor brought joy to every room he entered. His ability to make others laugh, even during difficult times, was a testament to his positive outlook on life. Ben will be remembered for his compassion, his zest for life, and his ability to uplift those around him.
Ben Chiuppi leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his daughters and their families, his dear friends and community, and all those whose lives were touched by his compassionate nature. May his memory forever inspire us to live each day with the same love, laughter, and kindness that he shared so freely with the world.
