Obituary of Prescy Cacdac

Presentacion “Prescy” Cacdac (nee Nalupa), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the age of 72 years.
Prescy was born in Rosario, La Union, Philippines on January 28, 1951. She immigrated to Canada in October of 1981, and settled in Calgary, AB, until the last of her days.
Prescy graduated from the University of Baguio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Accountancy. She married Jeremias Cacdac, her Economics professor, in 1971.
Prescy accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of being the founder of Arise Shine Oil and Gas Accounting Management and Consulting Limited. She worked other various jobs such as a bookkeeper for a Donair shop, and a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
Presentacion enjoyed hosting and cooking during weekly Bible studies, and other celebrations at home. She also was very active in ministering to family, friends, and strangers.
Her most memorable vacation was spent in the Philippines where she celebrated her 65 birthday.
Presentacion’s favourite songs to sing were ‘South of the Border’ and ‘The Old Rugged Cross’.
True to her name, she will forever be remembered as our “gift”. She was known for her kindness, generosity, simple elegance, and devotion to God.
Presentacion is survived by her two sons, Christopher, and Paul Jerome; her daughter-in-law Joan, her three grandchildren Jacob Timothy, Alexander James, and Angelica Corrine; all of Calgary, AB.
Presentacion is also survived by her sisters Agnes Nalupa Vibar, and Teresita Nalupa Patacsil, both of Rosario, La Union, Philippines; brother Olec Josephus Nalupa of Baguio, Philippines; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Manuel Halog, Rolando D. Patacsil and sisters-in-law Kate Fadlen, Lea D. Nalupa and brother-in-law Rolando D. Patacsil and sister-in-law Lea D. Nalupa.
Presentacion was predeceased by husband Jeremias Cacdac, parents Valentin and Jovita (nee Calonge) Nalupa; brothers Marcial Calonge Nalupa, Rogelio Calonge Nalupa, Manuel Calonge Nalupa, and Leobardo Calonge Nalupa; and sister Gertrudes Nalupa Halog.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Cacdac’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Presentacion’s family here.
