Obituary of David John Browning

David Browning, beloved husband of Laurie Browning, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 67 years.

Dave was born in Calgary, AB, and raised in Houston, Texas for seven years of his life. He travelled the world with his family for many years.

He eventually returned to Calgary, AB, and had his two sons, Levi and Dakota.

His favourite place to be was his ‘man cave’, which was his garage. All the neighbourhood kids would come by to get help fixing their bikes in the summers. He loved teaching others how to fix or make things and was always happy to lend his tools to those who needed them.

Dave always ‘loved’ helping his sons with fixing their vehicles, or anything else they came to him for help with. He always had some projects on the go to keep himself busy. Dave was so proud of his two sons for the men they grew up to be.

Even when he was broke, he kept a positive mind set. He made a game of seeing just how little money he would spend, and how he was still able get his groceries. He would always call his sister Sandy to tell her about what was on sale that week.

Dave lived life the way he wanted to, sitting in his garage watching the news while sitting in his favorite chair with his blanket.

He is survived by his sons, Levi and Dakota (Mary), his sisters, Heather (Rick), Laurel (Len), Jan (Ian) and Sandy; he had two grandchildren, Mara (Mary and Dakota) and Finn (Shawn and Megan), plus his many nieces and nephews.

He was loved by so many people and will be dearly missed. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with David’s family here.
