Obituary of Basil James Boyd

February 21, 1941 - Minnedosa, Manitoba

December 4, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Basil James Boyd, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the age of 82 years. Basil was born in Minnedosa, MB on February 21, 1941 and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

 

Basil will be forever remembered by his sons, Dean (Leah) and Kevin (Audrey); daughter-in-law Michelle (Ron) and the now favourite uncle, Terry (Carol), sisters-in-law, Elaine (Bryce), Donna (Norman); and brother-in-law David (Miriam). He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Emma, Ashleigh (Keenan), Bobby-Lynn (Brett), Kayla (Kris), Hunter (Josh), Jerrett (Shantel), and Stacey (Craig), Aubrey and Christsen; great-grandchildren, Michael, Kayleigh, Kali, Kin, Olivia, Amelia, Liam, and Sopia; as well as many nieces and nephews. He remained extremely close with his in-laws, Phyllis (Ron), Fran, Jerone (Bob), Gerry (Donna), Bev (Ed), Gloria (Lou), and William and Martha.

 

Basil was predeceased by his parents Norman and Blanche, son Brett, brothers, Norman-John, and Bruce; and his sisters, Margie (Doug), Miriam, Evelyne (Murray), and Joyce.

 

Basil was a long-time member of the Properties Lions Club. He was passionate with the Lions Childrens Camp and many other endeavours with the club.   

 

A private family viewing will be held. Graveside service will be held at St. Clements Cemetery, St. Andrews, MB in May 2024. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Basil’s family here. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Properties Lions Club.
