Obituary of Fraser Murray Laden

June 8, 1983 – Hampshire, England

December 5, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy heart, we say goodbye to Fraser Murray Laden who suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on December 5, 2023, at the young age of 40, in Calgary, Alberta.

Fraser was born on June 8, 1983, to Douglas and Fiona Laden and brother Douglas in Aldershot Military Hospital, Hampshire, England. Fraser is forever loved by his wife Elizabeth, their children Alexander and Isabella, his mother Fiona, brother Doug (Jacqui) and niece Rebecca, Aunt Ann, mother-in-law Annette Station, sister-in-law Sophia (Aleks) Bradasevic, brother-in-law Saverio (Irene) Tumato, nephews Angelo, and Mikele. He was predeceased by his father Dougie and Uncle John. Fraser attended Frogmore Primary School in Hampshire, England (where he was well known for running away from school) and then went onto attend The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, in Kent where he completed his final year in 2001. He then went on to begin studying a BSc in Physics at the University of Reading. Fraser had an aptitude toward mathematics and the sciences which he has passed down to Alexander.

Fraser entered the work force in London, where for a period of years he demonstrated a consistent and disciplined routine, working many overtime hours saving his earnings. In London he enjoyed playing Rugby and enjoying city life with friends.  In 2011 he took the brave and adventurous decision to travel the world for 2 years spending time in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and South America.  It was during this time that he met the love of his life Elizabeth, his future wife.  Fraser and Elizabeth settled in Calgary, Elizabeth’s home city in 2013. It was here that Fraser started his exceptional collection of lego (much to Elizabeth’s dismay!) and Elizabeth and Fraser started their beautiful family which include Alexander (7) and Isabella (5).

Fraser had a passion for travel and was a storyteller to everyone he met. We all know a Fraser travel story. However, his greatest accomplishment were his children. Fraser was so proud of Alexander’s mathematics abilities, his love of learning, and to have Arsenal’s biggest fan to watch the footie with him. Isabella was Fraser’s little girl that ruled the household and his heart.

Nothing will replace his presence and we will never forget him. We can't imagine this life without him and are thankful for friends and family who will help, love, guide and ensure the children will grow with their daddy in their hearts.

Alexander, Isabella, Daddy will always love you forever and always and will forever be in our hearts.
