Obituary of Gordon Glenn Kindree

September 16, 1959 - Hanna, Alberta

December 7, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Gordon Kindree (lovingly known as Ralf to many) beloved husband of Wendy (nee Howey) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the age of 64 years.

Gord was born in Hanna, AB on September 16, 1959. He moved to Calgary, AB after high school to earn his Red Seal in automotive mechanics from SAIT. In 1981, Gord transitioned to a service technician for Xerox Canada, where he stayed for over 38 years of service. Throughout his time at Xerox, Gord was honoured with numerous awards for service excellence.

After settling in Edmonton, Gord married Wendy in 1987. They welcomed daughter Amanda in 1989 and son Matthew in 1992. The family moved from Edmonton to Calgary in 1995 to be closer to extended family and friends.

Gord was a passionate car enthusiast, who owned and worked on his first car before he had a license to drive it and kept every car magazine he ever purchased in boxes in the basement. He was equally passionate about music, enjoying all genres and loved sharing his favourites with family and friends. For many years, Gord could be found during the winter months nervously pacing curling rinks across Calgary and small-town Alberta watching Amanda and Matthew curl.

Gord loved vacations of all sorts, including road trips, family vacations to warmer climates, and especially trips to his happy place, Las Vegas.

Besides his loving wife Wendy, Gord is survived by his daughter Amanda and son Matthew, both of Calgary. Gord is also survived by his brother James Kindree and sister Norma (Gord) Sieppert; sisters-in-law, Norma (Bob) McNary and Linda (Barry) Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gord was predeceased by his mother Agnes (nee Arnegaard), father Melville Kindree, sister Melvena Richardson, and father-in-law Doug Howey.
