Obituary of Nancy Margaret Mancell

October 2, 1950 - Estevan, Saskatchewan

December 14, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Nancy Mancell (nee Durst), beloved wife of the late Robert Mancell, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the age of 73 years.

Nancy was born in Estevan, SK, on October 2, 1950. She moved to Calgary, AB, in 1970 and resided here until the date of her passing.  Nancy graduated from the Regina Success Business with a Certificate in Business Administration. Nancy married Robert Mancell on August 2, 1974. She was a member of the CUPE and was a strong advocate of unionized workforces.

Nancy enjoyed gardening and was always proud when her flowers were in bloom. She independently grew all her flowers for her wedding. She will be most remembered for her gracious attitude and ability to make friends with anyone from all walks of life.

Nancy is survived by her son Brett Mancell, his partner Natasha Myette, and their daughter Cedar Mancell (2). Nancy is also survived by her sister Lee Bukowski (Nee Durst), her nieces Stacey Bukowski (Donny), and Erin Chambers (Eric); as well as her brother Kevin Durst. Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Mancell, and her parents LeRoy Durst and Noreen Durst (nee Donovan).

 A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Nancy’s family here.
