Obituary of Daniel Wayne Palmer

June 14, 1965 - December 11, 2023

Daniel Palmer, beloved partner of Barbara Curry, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the age of 58 years.

A native Calgarian, Daniel had many passions in his life, including motorcycles, dirt bikes, modern and vintage trucks, hunting, camping, music, and of course the cats who lived with him and Barb.

Daniel was a skilful Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic, who obtained his Red Seal designation in 1992.  He worked in Custom Sheet Metal for over 25 years.  The dedication to his craft was evident in the quality of his creations. 

With an easygoing temperament, Daniel had a natural ability to connect with people.  He made everyone he encountered feel at ease. He was a great conversationalist, with plenty of good stories that kept friends and family entertained. He will be most remembered for his sense of humour, kindness, generosity, and his supportive nature.

Besides his loving partner, Daniel is survived by his brother and two sisters, Len (Laurel) of Abbotsford BC; Barbara (Bonnie), and Maureen (Ian) of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Daniel was predeceased by his mother Joan very early in his life, his father Dan, and stepmother Joy.

Sincerest thanks to the medical staff at Rockyview General Hospital, Peter Lougheed Hospital, and the Foothills Nephrology Unit. Gratitude to the staff of the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, and the Palliative Care team at the Foothills Hospital for the care and kindness provided to Daniel. Also, a special thank you to the Chaplains of the Spiritual Care services of the Foothills Hospital for taking care of Daniel’s spiritual needs.

Daniel was a good man, with a good heart, and will be sorely missed. To mark your remembrance of Daniel, please consider making a donation to your favourite charity.
