Obituary of James Kenneth Corkey
February 3, 1965 - December 18, 2023
Our world lost a good man on December 18. James (aka Jim, Jimmy, “the wallet”, “the surgeon general”) died peacefully with his family around him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline (Cookie), his daughter Dana, his grandchildren Molly and Eamon (Jake), and his siblings and their families - Freda (Fred) Braniff, Bobby (Harriet) Corkey, Carol (Pierre) Ouellette and Michael (Lucy Hobbs) Corkey.
Jim worked at the TD Bank from the age of 19 years until retirement. Through work, he was able to travel and make lifelong friends. In his free time, he loved to golf, play hockey, curl, and watch a lot of sports on TV! Jim spent his last years in Calgary where he was able to spend precious time with Dana, Molly, and Jake. Unfortunately, dementia took him too soon.
He is being cremated in Calgary and the family has asked those near and far to raise a glass in his honour and share a memory or a photo here. Memories are so precious.
In living memory of James Corkey, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
