Obituary of Marjorie Manery Fraser

February 14, 1945 – Toronto, Ontario

December 21, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Marjorie Manery Fraser (nee Fisher) passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 78 years. 

Marj loved life itself and had a curiosity that led her on many travels with her beloved husband Ian of forty-nine years. She took every opportunity to spend time near the ocean she adored, including trips to Fiji, St. Lucia, the Cook Islands, and Vancouver Island. And yet a simple winery tour with loved ones in British Columbia’s interior brought a smile to her face.

Marj had a passion for the French language and was a much loved and respected French High School Teacher. In retirement, she spent time on things she cherished as she volunteered at the Calgary Zoo, joined several choirs, spent time with friends, and was devoted to her young grandchildren. Marj was very kind and compassionate and made an impact on many lives.

Marj will be loved and forever missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Fisher; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Aprylle Fraser (children Aidan and Sophie Fraser); daughters and sons-in-law, Danielle Fraser and David Hunt (children Delilah Hunt and Grace Fraser), Lynne and Blake Chalmers (children Corbin and Jet Chalmers).

Her life will be celebrated with a Gathering at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Marjorie’s family here.
