In Loving Memory of Claudia Emes

Claudia Emes of Calgary, AB, born May 17, 1946, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Christmas Eve was her favourite day of the year, celebrating the birth of her first child.

Claudia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Allen, children, Pete (Dawn), David (Allia), Jane (Ryan), and cherished grandchildren, Tori, Lauren, Teddy, Odessa, Conrad, Elle, Benjamin, and George, as well as her brother Tom (Donna).

Claudia was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. Dr. Emes was a born educator and a university professor for more than 40 years, publishing hundreds of journal articles and two books. She also volunteered extensively as a member of many national and international boards. Claudia was an accomplished athlete, and loved to travel with her family.

Claudia's family extends gratitude to the wonderfully dedicated staff at Chinook Long Term Care Centre.

Join us to honour her life at The Glencoe Club (636 29th Avenue S.W., Calgary) on Friday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Emes’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Claudia's family here.
