Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Buttle

April 20, 1931 – Blutcher, Saskatchewan

December 25, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Elizabeth “Betty” Buttle of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, at the age of 92 years.  

Betty was born in Blutcher, Saskatchewan and later moved to Saskatoon for high school. She moved to Calgary in 1950, where she worked for an oil company and the Alberta Wheat Pool before marrying Allan James Buttle in 1953. Later, she worked for the Calgary Board of Education.

She was a passionate astrologer who also enjoyed nature, animals, hiking, and swimming.
 

Betty was a beloved mother to Timothy (Shelia) of Downey, CA, and Kenneth (Gwyn) of Tempe, AZ; as well as grandmother to Laura and Michele. She was predeceased by her husband (Allan); parents Michael and Anne; her brother Michael (Bud), and her sisters, Margaret and Jean.

Betty will be most remembered for her kindness and compassion. She was a beloved neighbor and friend. The Bethany staff were especially grateful for her presence.

Thank you to her neighbors and friends, and the Bethany staff who took care of Elizabeth and were a part of her life throughout the years.
