Obituary of William (Bill) Archie Crawford

William “Bill” Crawford of Okotoks, AB, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Virginia, his four children, and seven grandchildren, Shauna Crawford (George, Justine, and Holly Dyker); Michelle (David, Blane, and Brooklyn) Johnston; Darren (Lori Kolenz and Gavin) Crawford; Matthew (Crystal, Violet, and Nolan) Crawford.

Bill was born in Toronto and moved to Calgary with his family at the age of 7. After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in 1968, he began his teaching career. He enjoyed teaching math for 32 years at St. John Brebeuf, St. Bonaventure, and St. Mary’s High School. Bill and Virginia were married in 1969; after retirement, they moved to Okotoks to enjoy a more rural life.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Kay and Archie Crawford, and his sister Helen. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Ozar, Joan McNamee, and Ann Coen, and his brother, Paul Crawford.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Parish (338060 - 32nd St. East, Okotoks, AB) on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Bill’s family here.
