Obituary of Tercyak Lauren Cecil

May 22, 1977– December 27, 2023

Tercyak Cecil, of Morley, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the age of 46 years.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother, cousin, uncle, grandpa and friend. Tercyak Lauren Cecil was a very humble person. He would help his family and friends when they needed his help. After his brother’s passing, he took the role of father to his nephews and would go out of his way to make them happy. Tercyak also cherished his relationship with his adopted brother Chief Darcy Dixon, always saying positive words about him. Tercyak took so much pride in landscaping his home.

Tercyak will be sadly missed by his siblings, Raquel Poucette, Tesh Kaquitts, Jeralyn Poucette, Chad Poucette, Keith (Jubileen) Cecil, Randall (Cynthia) Poucette, Cedric (Racheal) Twoyoungmen, Karry Cecil, Delroy Cecil, Alnora Cecil, Bernadine (Charles) Mark, Deanne Cecil, Amanda (Anil) Poucette, Sabrina (Elliott) Cecil, Fawn (Larance) Cecil, Zerlina Cecil, Gordena (Reggie) Twoyoungmen, Korral Cecil, Evelyn Cecil, Julianna Cecil, Christian Cecil, Adoptive parents Gerald and Jennie Clark,  Adopted siblings Darcy (Kathy) Dixon, Corrina House, Todd Poucette, Lyman Poucette, Rodney Poucette, Tammy (Torin) Dixon, Teresa Dixon and Diane Dixon , Maternal Aunt Nancy Ear and Maternal Uncle Avery Ear, paternal Aunts Sylvia and Nelda Bigstoney and Bernice Cecil, Yolanda Bigstoney, paternal Uncles John Wesley, Marvin Bigstoney, Bruce Wesley-Beaver, maternal grandmothers Annie and Ina Poucette,  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Tercyak was predeceased by his parents Franklin Cecil and Jeanette Ear, siblings Roosevelt and Arvid Cecil, paternal Grandparents Gordon and Evelyn Cecil, maternal grandparents Doris Ear and Ronald Poucette, and adopted Mother Evangeline Poucette.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Darrellen Poucette  (Morley, AB) on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  Funeral Services will be held at Bearspaw Youth Centre (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at  the Cecil Family Cemetery (Morley, AB). Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Tercyak’s family here.
