Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Picard

 

October 25, 1943 – Kelowna, British Columbia

December 28, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Picard, born October 25, 1943, in Kelowna, BC, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2023, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 80 years.

 

Betty was a graduate of Culinary Studies at SAIT and was a member of many organizations.  She volunteered with several organizations and had various employments. Betty enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, and her family. Her greatest achievements were her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.

 

Betty the oldest of twelve children, was predeceased by her parents, Raphael and Catherine Dillman; her brother Thomas (Jim) Dillman, and her sister Imelda (Budge) Frey. She is survived by her beloved husband Bob Picard, her sons, Jim (Sandy) and Chris (Tammy) Picard; her daughter Michelle (Sean) Carnegie, her grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas, Haley, Abigail, Elizabeth, and William; and her great-granddaughter Cecilia.

 

Thank you to the nursing and support staff of Unit 61A at Rockyview General Hospital, doctors P Sharma and T Calder for their care, and all the warm staff and friends at the Trinty Lodge.

 

Betty will be most remembered for her loving heart and dedication to her family, her baking and cooking at so many family gatherings, and her steadfast leadership and consistent strength. Her favorite saying to her family and friends was "anyways".

 

A service will be held at a later date.
