Condolences
Marla was my best friend when I lived in Aberdeen Saskatchewan
We spent a lot of time playing together in the train station.
Marla gave me “Pop Beads” which I still have. I was 10 years when we moved to Manitoba
I was unsuccessful to connect up with Marla for years, now her Obituary pops up.
My Condolences on the loss of your Mother.
Marla was such a special and adored friend to my mom, and her and Pete were together such dear friends to both my mom and dad. Their friendship, kindness, warmth, and fun times were often shared with us in wonderful stories and great times together. Marla had simply the kindest heart. She was thoughtful and always had the time for me and my family when we had the chance to visit. The love and generosity she extended to my kids left a lasting impression. She truly cared when you were sharing stories and made us feel so good being in her presence.
James and Christy, David and Bo,
Marla will be missed and I’m sad to have missed the celebration yesterday. I often liked to crash the dinners at my mom’s house so that I could see Marla, even if it was a short visit. She has always been a constant in my life. Growing up next door, she became like another mother figure. She fed us and cleaned up after us and helped us become “cool” kids by having a trampoline. Marla, sorry to have told Dave that the Easter bunny wasn’t real and sorry to have made your basement into an extravagant haunted house and not tidying the “masterpiece” up. Sorry if we worried you when playing super hero’s and climbing all those trees!
Marla, thank you for always being steady and cheerful. You have always been there for our family. I will appreciate you and your laugh so so much. Even Gordie, who met you so few times, felt you were such a cool fun lady. I like to think you are taking Benji and April for long walks now and are at peace.
Much love and sympathy to the family, Sarah
James and Christy, David and Bo, the Celebration of Life that you orchestrated for your mum, Marla, was a wonderful tribute to her. You couldn't have chosen a better venue! Heritage Park is a special place for so many of us who loved bringing our children to visit. Marla's celebration was an opportunity to share our grief, to share memories of her, and to renew friendships. Marla would definitely give her seal of approval. Thank you so much!
Marla. Cheers to a great life! Having you as my neighbor was like having a second mother around to take care of our family and home. You were also my inspiration to make minivans cool again and I often think of you when driving my kids around in our white minivan. You will be missed.
Marla's smile warmed hearts. She noticed people, cared about them, and welcomed friends and dogs into her home. . We were young moms, raising our kids, and sharing school, sports, and especially friendship. Thank you, Marla. I treasure our Oakridge memories together.
Thanks for being a good friend Marla. You always were a great listener and I will miss our lunches where we shared stories of our children as they grew up and then our grandchildren as they became big parts of our lives. We laughed at life’s absurdities and joked about the right way to run the world. Your smile, your humour, your generosity and your caring will be missed
Our most sincere condolences to Marla's beloved family.
Some people have the lovely knack of giving someone a sprinkle of joy & laughter in their day -- Marla was just the perfect person to do that. She had a wonderful sense of humour and deep kindness.
Marla was a good friend & neighbour. We will miss her immensely & will think of her often.

Our condolences go out to Marla's family.
Marla was a great lady to have as a friend and neighbour.
She was fun, kind and thoughtful.
We had many chat sessions with a glass of wine and shared
surprise packages of chocolate at our doors.
She kindly watched our suite many times when we were away.
We will miss her greatly.

I was a neighbour of Marla’s. She always admired my garden and loved my dog Olivia. I am grateful for her friendship and miss her deeply.
I am her niece, but I'm older than her deeply adored sons, and she was busy child rearing.
But as an adult we became friends, which was incredible and amazing.
She was my biggest cheerleader. No one could give you more confidence.
She also loved cats that acted like dogs - when dad was sick, I scooped up Louis and brought him to Calgary and she would squeal holding him like a baby.
I loved her very much and there is a hole in my heart but she made me a better, kinder human being and I'm so grateful for having her in my life.
Love, Rosalind
Marla was a neighbour of ours. Always admired her going for a daily walk with another neighbour, chatting away, with a smile.
Marla was very brave as she faced her cancer diagnosis. We had several conversations about her treatments. I will miss her very much.
