Carol Baker (nee Sweett), beloved wife of James "Jim" Baker of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the age of 80 years.

Carol was born in Calgary, AB at the Calgary General Hospital on June 21, 1943. She lived in Strathcona, Braeside, and Pumphill. Carol worked in retail at Woodwards and the Bay. Carol and Jim were married on September 1, 1961, and together they raised their three children.

She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Miniature & Doll Clubs. Her biggest passion was her doll collection. Carol loved animals but her biggest weakness were dogs. She was also a proud member of the United Church. Carol’s most memorable vacation was her trip to Jamaica, but she loved her many visits to the cabin in Windermere, BC with her family.

Besides her loving husband Jim, Carol is survived by her children, Todd, Sheri-Lyn, and Greg; and numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Stan and Gertrude Sweett.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Prairie Sky Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Carol’s family here.
