Obituary of Mary Ann Kemle

January 5, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

 

Mary Kemle beloved wife of Karl, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

 

Mary Ann was born in Tilley, Alberta on March 10, 1937. She lived with her family in the Red Deer Lake area on their farm, living there until moving to Calgary to attend high school, where she graduated from Western Canada. Mary married Karl in 1955, and they had their daughter Lori in 1959. Mary was employed for 40 years with Dominion of Canada until she retired, then she had a part time job with Sears at Chinook until the age of 79. She loved to garden, crochet and attend many of the activities at her church St. Anthony’s. Her most memorable vacation was going to Yugoslavia with her father and daughter to see his birthplace. Mary will be most remembered for her love of family and her desire to give a helping hand.

 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lorraine ‘Lori’ (Kevin) Leitch; four grandchildren, Meghan (Paul) Leitch, Kristen Leitch, Adam Leitch and Robin Leitch; and her two great-grandchildren, Victoria Nyilas and Charlotte Nyilas (Meghan’s daughters). Mary was predeceased by spouse Karl Kemle and brother Steve Bruketa Jr.

 

 Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall at St Anthony's Catholic Church. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Mary’s family here
