Obituary of Bob Picard
February 23, 1942 - Edson, Alberta
January 9, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
Bob Picard of Edson, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 81 years.
Bob, over the years, completed his journeyman in carpentry. He would also call himself a bank employee, trucker, and salesman. He was always willing to lend a hand to various organizations whenever he could.
Bob enjoyed building almost anything and was even happier if it was built with his family as helpers. He also enjoyed touring the fields and helping run the combine or other farming equipment to help out his brothers-in-law. Bob took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, and his fondest memories were made during fishing trips. His collection of "fishing" stories continued to grow over time. While Bob had many favorite sayings, "love you" became particularly popular in his later years. He will be most remembered for his family, building skills, and crazy wit.
Bob is survived by his sons, Jim (Sandy) and Chris (Tammy) Picard; daughter Michelle (Sean) Carnegie; grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas, Haley, Abigail, Elizabeth, and William; and great-granddaughter Cecilia.
Bob was predeceased by his lovely wife of 54 years Betty; his parents Willy and Juliana; brothers, Bill, Rick, Ken and Tom; sister Maddy; sister-in-law Shirley; and his brothers-in-law, Rick and Bob.
Thank you to everyone at Trinity Lodge for the friendship; and the nursing and support staffs of Rockyview General Hospital Unit 81 and Foothills Medical Centre Units 112 and 111. To everyone (nursing and support staff, volunteers, other individuals and their families, and all others) at Southwood Hospice, your love and care made the last days special and memorable for Bob’s family. Thank you is not a large enough word/sentiment for the way you helped us all, especially Bob.
A service will be held at a later date.
