Obituary of Valeria Elena Anastasiu Daos

Valeria Anastasiu Daos (nee Trofin) passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the age of 87.

 

Valeria was born in Bucharest, Romania on Christmas Day, December 251936 and graduated from the University of Bucharest with a degree in Language Arts. Valeria was married to Gheorghe Anastasiu Daos (Gicā) from 1961 until his passing in 2002.

 

She was a most hard-working and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, to the point of being ready to sacrifice herself for her loved ones. She was truly appreciated and highly respected in her professional life as well.  Valeria was a passionate reader and lover of nature. She loved singing and delighted everyone with her cooking and baking.  

 

Valeria immigrated to Canada in 2010 but had to return to Romania and remain there as a caregiver to her older ailing sister between 2017 and 2021. She came back to Canada for good in April 2021, after her sister passed. Here she lived with her older daughter Magda and her son-in-law Lucian in Calgary.

 

Valeria is survived by her daughters Andreea and Magdalena and her son-in-law, Lucian, her grandchildren Andrei, Andra and Teodora (Dora) and her great-granddaughter, Maia. Valeria is also survived by her nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

 

Valeria lived a tough yet great life, gave a lot to many people, and was deeply loved and cared for.

 

As per her family’s wishes no formal services will be held in Canada. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Valeria’s family here.
