Obituary of James Cochrane
June 13, 1964 – Halifax, Nova Scotia
January 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
James Cochrane of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 59 years.
James was born in Halifax, NS and moved to Calgary with his family in 1967. He worked in the restaurant industry in both BC and AB. He was a fine chef. His friends and family were always grateful for the beautiful meals he magically pulled together, and he never travelled without his giant box of spices.
James’s love of life was infectious. He was always positive, and his brilliant smile would light up every room he entered. He was a great father and a loyal friend, always willing to help those who knew him.
He loved music and was never far from one of his guitars or his piano. He loved the family cabin at Windermere, but more than anything, he loved his son and closest friend Caden.
He will be sorely missed by all of us.
James is survived by his son Caden Cochrane, his mother Phyllis Cochrane, his brothers Steven (Tannis) and Paul (Cathy) Cochrane; his sister Gillian Gould (Glenn), and by his many nieces, nephews, and their children. James was predeceased by his father Bill Cochrane.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with James’ family here.
