Condolences
I was sorry to hear about Jim's passing. What a legacy he left! When I married into the family of one of the owners of Willow Park G & CC, I was, of course, expected to learn how to play golf. From my time as a rookie, until I developed a modest game, Jim was always so kind and encouraging. I often felt like an imposter at the club so, when I was uncomfortable, I'd go to the pro shop where Jim and Shelley were so welcoming. Then I had the opportunity to meet Kim who was so gracious as well. I think they understood what it was like to be a newbie in that environment and I will always be grateful.
My deepest condolences to Shelley, Kim and the family. You are in my hear and prayers.
My heart sank when I heard. Jim always treated me with respect and honor as he did with everybody.
JJ was one of the great pros that always had time for his members and the golfing community.
One of the best!
Very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Mayfair first in the Backshop (cleaning clubs) and then when he promoted me to the Proshop. I had the opportunity to caddy for Jim at various CPGA events always marvelling at his effortless swing. Jim sold me my first car . . . . a Pontiac Astre. Got me through high school and university even with its aluminum block! I followed Jim (along with Drake Mason) when he set-up shop at Sturgeon Valley Golf Club. Enjoyed every minute working for Jim and learned many life lessons. Brings a tear to my eye. Rest in peace Jimbo. A life very well lived.
My condolences Shelly. Jim always treated visitors to WP like members. I am proud to have been his friend.

So saddened to hear this news! Truly a great man and a true leader in the Alberta golf industry! Was an honour to be able to work with him and the family for over twenty years and to have had the opportunity to learn from him and to call him a friend. He was always willing to spend time and offer his knowledge and expert guidance.
He will be greatly missed by so many. My condolences to the entire family.
Shelley, Kim, Tanya & Martin,

I was so sad to hear about "Jimmy's" passing. I had some great years growing up at Willow Park under Jim's tutelage. I was fortunate to get to know Kim and Shelley through him, and big hugs go out to them.
Jim was nice enough to write me a letter about a month ago regarding health problems of my own. I had no idea he was dealing with his own issues, and for that I regret not reaching out. Jim was always nothing but a class act, and he will be sorely missed by his loved ones and everyone in the Alberta Golf world..
My condolences to the entire family.
Have known Jim since his assistant days at Mayfair.
Had an opportunity to visit at this years PGA of Alberta awards night.
Always a pleasure to be in his company and he was always more concerned with you rather than himself.
A true Professional, Gentleman and honoured to call him my friend.

So sad to hear of Jim's much-to-soon passing.
I first met Jim as a reporter, covering the golf beat back in the 1990s. Welcoming, supportive, a wealth of knowledge and always ready to help, Jim was one of my "go tos" when I was looking for a comment or information. Later, when our family joined Willow, we reconnected and I was able to see his passion for the game and professionalism at work. Shelley, Kim and family, we are so sorry for your loss.

Sending big hugs and sincere condolences to the entire family. Jim was indeed a true legend in the industry. He was such a positive influence in the golf world…..in the world. Big hugs.
The industry and the PGA will deeply mourn the loss of this esteemed individual. Jim was known for his distinguished appearance, consistently wearing perfectly pressed pants, a 100% mercerized cotton shirt, and a cashmere sweater. He not only talked the talk but also walked the walk. I had the privilege of meeting Jim in 1987 at Willow Park after my first win as a PGA assistant during my inaugural year as a professional. He kindly sent me a letter of congratulations and encouragement. Another heartfelt letter arrived when I assumed the position of Head Professional at CountryHills Golf Club. Jim's thoughtful and generous gestures truly meant a great deal to me. This is a somber time for all who had the opportunity to cross paths with Jim, as well as for his family who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives full time. He will be genuinely missed.

Milt and I pass on our greatest sympathies to shelley and his family. He was so positive towards the game of golf and life in general.
Jim was a true gentleman and a fantastic person. As a sales rep, Jim always kept me in check and would quite often share his "secret" tips on the industry with me. Please accept our condolences.
My deepest condolences to the family of Jim Jempson. "Jessee" as he was know to many in the golf industry was an amazing person, a great friend and a golf pro legend. I have so many wonderful memories of Jessee. From the early days last century when he was my instructor at an Alberta Golf Junior camp, the many golf trips such as the annual Whitefish Pro-Am tournament to the numerous chats we had when he snuck over from Willow Park to hit balls at the Earl Grey driving range.....Jessee did the talking and I did the listening...and I loved every minute of it !
Jim was an amazing friend and mentor not only for myself but many in the Golf business. He was and will always be the constant professional, I was always proud to receive one of those “handwritten notes” it meant you were on the right track. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

I joined Willow Park the same Year that Jim became the Head Professional there and our friendship has remained all of those years. Just a couple of weeks before his passing Jim called and we had a 1/2 hour of great conversation as Jim loved to reminisce about his interesting and " involved" life. Sincere condolences go our to Shelley, Kim , Martin and ALL of Jim's Family and Extended family. I will miss him.
