Obituary of Robert Garth Fisher

January 1947 – Tompkins, Saskatchewan

January 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Robert “Bob” Fisher, passed away January 2024, at the age of 76 years, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Bob was born in Saskatchewan but spent most of his life in Alberta and called Calgary his home for most of that time.

Bob graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Engineering and spent his professional career in the Petroleum Industry working for many companies. He served on many boards and professional associations and took great pride in mentoring young people in the industry.

Outside of work Bob enjoyed many hobbies. He loved woodworking and made much of the furniture throughout the house and many items that will be treasured by the family for many more years. He also loved antique cars, especially his 57 T-Bird! Most of all both he and Judy loved camping, spending most summer weekends in the mountains, often with their best friends Bill and Andrea. After retirement they traveled extensively both in North America and abroad. Bob loved country music, the many family dogs, photography, and especially his many friends and family. We will miss his smile and infectious laughter.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judy, his daughters, Tracy and Cindy, and his grandson Sam. Bob is also survived by many more friends, family, and colleagues.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Cambridge Manor who took such great care of him in his final years.
