Obituary of Catherine Annette Isabel Louise Labelle

September 25, 1967 -Thunder Bay, Ontario

 January 16, 2024 - Cochrane, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Cathy on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the age of 56 years.

Cathy was born in Thunder Bay, ON, and grew up in Regina, SK. An avid athlete and socialite in school, she was always beaming when around friends and family.

A lifelong and dedicated Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, she was definitely more entertaining than the game itself.

Cathy built a life with the love of her life, Joel. Together, they created a home in Cochrane, AB, where their pets were very well-loved, and where family and friends gathered for countless nights of shared laughter and unforgettable moments. Her heart especially overflowed with love for her nieces and nephews.

Cathy always celebrated others’ accomplishments. Even in her last moments, Cathy wanted to ensure that her siblings’ achievements were noted.

Cathy was magnetic, if you were in the room with her, you couldn’t get enough of her energy. As we bid Cathy farewell, we will miss her vibrant beautiful soul and are so thankful for the memories we have of her.

Cathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband Joel; her parents, Esther and George; her siblings, Lawrence (Dawn), Danny, and Claire (Stuart); nieces and nephews, Danna (Rob), Aden, Amélie, and Elliott; great-niece and great-nephew, Rémi and Everly; and numerous family members and friends across Canada and the UK.

As per Cathy’s wishes, a private service will be held.

In Cathy’s memory, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
