Obituary of Manfred Adolf Andratschke
November 23, 1934 – Oppeln, Germany
January 24, 2024 – Redwood Meadows, Alberta
Manfred Adolf Andratschke, beloved husband and loving father, passed quietly on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 89 years, at his home in Redwood Meadows, AB.
In 1960, Manfred, his wife, and infant daughter left Germany, leaving behind family, friends, and all that was familiar, hoping to build a better life in Canada. Manfred’s hard work and determination created that life. Being a family man, he was always most proud of the family they had built. Manfred’s sense of humour and kind heart will be sorely missed by all that knew him, but his bright memory will live on in our hearts.
Manfred is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anneliese Andratschke, his children, Angelika (Ron) Riggall, Michael Andratschke, and Marc (Trudi Lorimer) Andratschke; grandchildren, Amber and Ty Andratschke; as well as two remaining siblings in Germany, Margot Klinke and Peter Andratschke.
As per Manfred’s wishes, a private service will be held.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Manfred’s family here.
In living memory of Manfred Andratschke, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB T4C 2E2, Telephone: 403-932-4740.
