John Shelwick passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

John was born in Calgary, AB, on July 10, 1933. He was a lifetime Calgarian and was a long-tenured Husky Oil employee. John enjoyed curling and held board positions with the Alberta Oilmen’s Curling Club. He also had passions around photography, music, and technology. John married Ruth Huber on January 22, 1955, and enjoyed 68 years of devotion. John and Ruth took many trips together and did a lot of “RVing” with friends.

John was predeceased by his wife Ruth Shelwick (2023), father John Shelwick (1958), mother Pauline (Podmurny) Shelwick (2002), and younger brother Alan Shelwick (1976).

There will not be any funeral services, but John will be missed by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. If you wish to celebrate John’s life, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, as John was an avid supporter of many charities.
