My deepest condolences to your family on the loss of this wonderful man. When I met Mr. Weed, it was 1986, and I just transferred to his school, Meadowbrook Middle School. What I expected to be a scary time in my life was made easier by Mr. Weed, he was so kind and welcoming and so very proud of his school. I shared his obituary on my social media and there was immediately an outpouring of fond memories from all of us at Meadowbrook and although a few of us may have spent a few, if not many hours in his office, every encounter was met with kindness, fairness, and patience. Mr. Weed was hands down the best principal many of us ever had and he will be remembered for many years to come. Yes Mr. Weed, I did do a grammar check before posting....you always reminded me to check my grammar.
Sincere Sympathy to Rita and family in Jim's passing. I worked with him at Springbank Community High School and always knew he would support me in any way. I have very fond memories of those years. Rest in Peace Jim
Jim Weed was a Master Teacher and Master Person. He loved life and the people around him. He shared his excitement for what was happening around us. He was my math and P.Ed. teacher at St. Michaels School. He would start every math class by talking about what was happening around us, especially in sports. After about 10 minutes he would say "ok it is time to work on our math". We felt great as we worked because he made us feel good before even starting. Teaching is more about how he made us FEEL, so we then we would have the desire to work and study. In P.Ed. he coached basketball. He allowed my brother and I to organize and put on a Gymnastics evening for parents. He was fundamental in causing me me to become a P. Ed. teacher. Later, I was at St. Alphonsus teaching and coaching basketball. He was the Principal at St. Helena and brought over 80 dressed cheerleaders to encourage his basketball team in trying to beat us. Again, he made those cheerleaders FEEL so good and he never cut anyone.
Jim Weed, rest in peace knowing that you positively influenced thousands of students to FEEL good and want to learn.
God Bless you and Thanks

My sincere condolences to you Rod and the rest
of the family with the passing of your Father.
Thinking of you during this difficult time.
To Mr. Weed's family,
I was saddened to hear of Mr. Weed's passing.
He was a dynamo to me my classmates at St. Helena Junior High School. (1969-71) We were young (and sometimes afraid of him :-)) but he was an icon of strength, compassion, and dedication to his students. Mr. Weed treated me with respect and always encouraged me to do my best even if I wasn't as good as the next guy. He knew the meaning of "heart" and saw the potential in every one of his students.
I have thought about him often in my adult years and hope I have emulated his values and ideals of education in my college classrooms.
My condolences to his family and loved ones and my prayers for peace and strength as you move through this difficult time.
Respectfully,

My deepest sympathies to Rita and the family on Jim’s passing. He was such a dynamic man, with a love for life and especially the education of children. I had the joy of working with Jim for many years, and I appreciated his honesty, integrity, friendship and willingness to try new ways of leading. I’ll always remember him saying to me, “Karen, sometimes it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission when your heart is leading you to try new initiatives.” Jim touched the lives of so many people in such positive ways. He’ll be missed. ❤️
My sincere condolences to all of Mr. Weeds family and friends. He was a wonderful principal when we were in junior high at St. Helena . May he rest while his family treasures his memory.
My sincere condolences on Jim’s passing. He was a gentleman, friend and mentor to many. I truly enjoyed my years working with Jim and value the influence he had on my career.
Rita and family, my heartfelt condolences on your loss of a great humanitarian. Jim treated me with the utmost kindness
my entire life. The caring and friendship that he had with my mother will never be forgotten.
May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

My sincere condolences to you Rita, Sherri and the entire Weed Family.
Jim was an amazing mentor to me and thousands of students throughout his career as an educator. He was dedicated, well respected and a very kind, Christian man.
I’m thankful that I got to know him better through my work later on in my life. I will always remember him as Mr. Weed, my principal at St. Helena’s Junior High.
May God wrap you in his loving arms.
