March 18, 1995 – Dolyna, Ukraine
January 29, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Valentyn Maznychka, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the age of 28 years.
Valentyn was born in Dolyna, Ukraine on March 18, 1995.
Valentyn graduated from the Dr. EP Scarlett High School. He spent a significant time in the security and loss prevention industry. He had completed several accomplishments throughout his career, such as completing a defensive combat course, verbal judo, First Aid, and CPR. He also worked in the trades, as well as in management positions in retail, where he was always a valuable member of the team.
Valentyn spoke fluent Ukrainian, English, and Russian. He loved playing video games since he was a little kid. He was particularly talented with computers. Valentyn even built his own powerful PC computer from scratch. He also enjoyed Brazilian Judo, going to the gym, swimming, and playing the guitar.
Valentyn was constantly learning. He could process information like no other and will always be remembered for his ability to learn so seamlessly, especially about topics he was interested in.
He really enjoyed travelling when he could. Trips to Montreal, Ukraine, and Hawaii are just some of the highlights.
“Grief is love with no place to go”.
He will be most remembered for his excitement for life and his beautiful tender soul.
Valentyn is survived by his sister, Nadiya Black of Edmonton, AB, parents, Ivan and Oksana Maznychka of Calgary, AB; grandparents, Pavlina Maznitchka of Lethbridge, AB, and Maria Bunyk of Dolyna, Ukraine. He will be greatly missed by his extended family; his uncle Andrey Bunyk of Dolyna, Ukraine, aunt Galina Samarina and her husband Peter Artsimenia of Calgary, AB, cousin Viktoriya Samarina and her husband Michael Lindenbach, his aunt and cousin, Tetiana and Kristina Chromiak, both of Ukraine, and as he’d say, “his most valuable possession” and very much-loved puppy, Ally.
