Condolences
Oh the times! I first met Mark through our mutual friend, Jeff, back in the Erlton Days. He immediately struck me as a kind and layback kinda guy. As time went on, it then became the Southwood Days, and Mark was one of the “crew”. For every trip to CR9, every housecoat party, every balcony scene, or just a random Sunday, Mark would be there, always ready for a laugh. I never once saw Mark angry, or even upset. I’m sure that happened, but whenever we were all together, he was just chillin’ with a calm and kind energy. Mark was a consummate BBQ’r. I remember watching him BBQ chicken in his folks backyard… (How ya gonna cook that chicken?) and how he stacked it to be sure the big and small pieces would cook evenly. That has always stuck with me. Funny, it’s the little things that stick.
…But he was never called Mark, he was always Ack to us. Time passes and life takes us on different paths. I haven’t seen Ack in a number of years, but that doesn’t change the impact he had on my life. It is through our connections that we learn and grow. Ack was there during a very important time and I will always treasure what he gave to us all. Love and kindness.
With so much love and gratitude,
Linda, aka Web
Mark always made sure that he phoned his dad, Gil, at 6pm every night in the nursing home, so he could read him the daily weather, sports and news of the day.
Rest In Peace now, Mark, and I hope you are enjoying all the Black Forest cake that heaven has to offer.
I remember Mark so well growing up, both him and his brother Steve were staples of our regular family life. He will be missed by us all.
My deepest sympathies the Svendsen family. My heart is broken for two lovely people.
