Avis and Richard were blessed with two children, Karen and Susan, whom Avis cherished dearly.

Family was paramount to Avis, and she spared no effort to ensure special occasions were celebrated by hosting large family gatherings. Avis relished meeting people, sharing humorous stories and jokes, and fostering meaningful conversations. Avis briefly worked as a part-time sales associate at The Bay, sharing her great sense of style with customers. Additionally, she passionately expressed herself through crafts like sewing, knitting, and painting ceramics when she had the time.

During summers, Avis and Richard frequented their cozy cabin in Nelson, BC. They ardently shared their joy with loved ones, extending warm invitations for family and friends to join them in exploring natural beauty and engaging in fun activities. Ensuring everyone had an unforgettable experience, they created numerous, precious memories destined to last a lifetime.

Avis and Richard also spent time travelling. They explored and enjoyed Hawaii a couple of times and a family trip to Japan, Taiwan, China, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Later, they visited New York and New Orleans and cruised the Panama Canal and the Atlantic.
