Obituary of Margaret Edna Drewniak

May 18, 1946 – Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

February 5, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Margaret Drewniak, beloved wife of John (nee Drewniak) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 77 years. 

  

Margaret was born in Moose Jaw, SK, on May 19, 1946. She moved to the Bowness community in Calgary, AB, in the 60s. A few years later, Margaret married her husband John, in 1975. 

 

Margaret accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of helping numerous kids and their families with their schooling throughout her 25-year career with the Calgary Board of Education. Margaret was also a board member of The Bow West Community Association for five years. 

 

Margaret loved and had a great passion for reading, cooking, and making cards for friends and family.

 

Margaret’s most memorable vacation was when she went on her honeymoon to Hawaii. She loved to travel and had great adventures in Hawaii, the Bahamas, England, Scotland, and many more locations across the world.

 

She will be most remembered for her passion for helping others. Volunteering whenever she could to help those who needed it. 

  

Margaret is survived by her daughter Marnie Drewniak of Calgary, AB; and son John Drewniak of Calgary, AB; her four sisters, Jessie Gamache of Pincher Creek, Amy (Peter) Petroski of Edmonton, Alice Struck of Pincher Creek, and Nettie Rupert (Laurie) of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

 

Margaret was predeceased by her husband John, mother Vina Meylenchuck, brother John Sinclair, and sisters Melba and Doris.
