Condolences
Norm saved so many lives by donating blood for patients! (900 donations!) in the hospital. He always had a smile when coming to the blood donor clinic He also volunteered in the refreshment area. So pleasant to the donors. When there were little children waiting in the refreshment area, he had activities ready for them to do. Some of those children are donating today as adults! I believe that having Norm spending time with donors and the children had a wonderful impact with their future. Norm was also an advocate for donating in the plasma program and would spend time talking to donors about the program. He was away for a few years but will be missed by all!
We live in the same condo as Norm did. Periodically saw him, always with a smile.
Better yet, met Norm again at Blood Services. He delighted in handing out cookies/juice and gave me my first “badge of honour” upon first blood donation.
May the angels take Norm to his resting place.
I was saddened to learn that that my friend Norm had completed his earthly journey. His life was fully lived.. I remember Norm as a senor slow pitch ball player. When Norm gave up playing the game he became an umpire and served on various committees. always promoting the sport he loved.
He was a volunteer first class. Not only.in ball but in promoting seniors activities wherever he could..
He leaves a big hole that will require several others to fill. He will sadly missed by many in the Calgary North West.
