Condolences
To Liane, Linda and Linnea,I lived across the street on Harrison. Laurel and I began first grade together. I spent many happy hours playing dress up, no room or closet was off limits, thanks to your mom.At the big table there were books project always art and the piano. Information about many years after I lost track only confirm what her path was destined to be, creative, engaged, so ahead of her time, a life of travel , languages, kindness always, never any pretense. Her Utah roots served her well and may her lovely soul continue to enrich all she loved and cherished. margaret holther bagley
Dear Ruey, Sophie, and family,
I am saddened to hear of Laurel’s passing and send you all much love and sympathy as you navigate the loss of your beloved mother, grandmother and sister.
I moved to Calgary in 2004 and began the Calgary Meditation Group in 2005. It was such a joy to have Laurel join us in 2006! Her love of life, people, animals, and nature was infectious and her innate sweetness always inspired our little group. On one occasion I had the privilege of traveling by plane with Laurel back to Ananda Village. How she loved being reunited with her Ananda family! I believe that was the last time she was there.
I now live in Davisburg, MI, where my husband and I moved in 2019 to be close to our kids and grandkids in Chicago and Toronto. We’re an hour northwest of Detroit, just off I 75. It’s a small world!
May you all be comforted, knowing that Laurel loved, and was loved by, so many in this world. She is surely now with her Maker and her beloved Master.
With love and condolences,
Suzanne Wall
Hi Ruey and Sophie, I’m so sorry to hear of Laurel’s passing. I got to know her in the later years of her life as we both attended meditations at Linda’s house, often I would drive her there. We would chat in the car where she shared openly and eloquently about her life. I was deeply touched by her gentle nature. I could feel her sincere love of the natural world, good literature, hiking in the mountains but mostly her love for you both and her grandchildren. I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know Laurel a little bit, I will always treasure the time we spent together.
