Condolences
I had the pleasure of working with Val at Gulf/ConocoPhillips. Val was a good mentor while I was new to the Land Dept. Have lots of good memories and fun times and lunches with her. My deepest condolences to Val’s family and friends. She will be truly missed.
May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. Amen
My sincere condolences to all of Val’s family and friends. Val happily shared her working knowledge and life wisdom and was a friend and mentor when we worked together at Gulf/ConocoPhillips. I loved that she always put a positive spin on everything, both at work and play (golf pun intended) and I considered it a privilege to play golf at past WWF tournaments. Val was a bright light, in this world and she will be missed.
I first met Val when I babysat for her and Gerry when Ryan was just a baby. A friendship developed and we ended up working and living together in the late 70’s, early 80’s. Val was a kind, caring and bubbly person and I was so blessed to get to know her and her family! She will be missed.
My sincere condolences to all the family and friends
Val was a Shining Star with the ability to shine her light on the many lives she touched. Val will continue to shine her Star light in our hearts and we will always have the wonderful memories of “Love and Light”!! ❤️
Sending prayers, love & hugs to all!

I first met Val when Conoco Phillips took over Burlington Resources in 2006 where I was working at the time. She became my Landman and I was her Contracts Landman. We immediately hit it off and we had so much in common. It did not take long and we became great friends.
One of my most memorable times with Val was when we went on our river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam in June of 2019. A trip and time spent with Val that I will never forget. There was never a day without laughter and enjoying each others company.
My sincere sympathy goes out to her family and the friends who had the pleasure of knowing her. Val will be so missed by them all.

I moved to Calgary in the mid 90’s. It did not take long I realized I had competition - there was another Valerie Porter in town! I received many phone calls from people thinking I was ‘the other’ VP - namely, her Father, George, someone asking if I had lost my Mother (right after I had driven my Mom home! …
It was 10 years before we finally met. ConocoPhillips bought Burlington Resources. I was excited to finally meet Val. We had many things in common. I could tell immediately that she had a beautiful heart.
We were making plans to get together and then Covid hit. We did not set up another meet up. We always think we have lots of time.
I am so grateful we got to meet. Val was a great example of kindness, love and positivity.
Rest in Peace My Friend.
Valerie G Porter
Val was a kind person, a thoughtful person. You left a wiser person if you had the opportunity to sit next to Val at an event. It was a pleasure to be in her company and her smile and positive attitude was always so refreshing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.

Val and I worked together at Gulf in the eighties and nineties, and became lifelong friends. Val was a mentor and confidante, always kind and generous, and I will miss her dearly.
Condolences to the family, “love and light”, as Val would say.

The Greenaway family were saddened to learn of Val’s recent passing. Our Dad, Phil Greenaway, worked with Val at Gulf Canada back in the 1970s in the “computer room”. To us, the whole Gulf Team was like a family. We have fond memories of many Gulf parties in our backyard, and we enjoyed getting to know the people Dad worked with.
Our sincere condolences to Val’s Family and friends.
Pat Greenaway, Susan Pankiw, and Debbie Guthrie (new Greenaway)
I will remember Val for her words of wisdom and encouragement in our conversations. I will always have great memories of golfing, drinking wine and visiting with Val and Virginia. My thoughts go out the Val's family and friends. She is gone too soon and will be missed.

Val was such a wonderful work colleague. Sending heartfelt sympathies and hugs to her friends and family.
Val what a lovely lady worked with her for many years at Gulf a very dear friend. Condolences and blessings to the family she will be greatly missed.
Val we will forever remember your beautiful smile, strength, sense of adventure and wisdom. We cherish the many visits, shared experiences and golf games we had with you, Ginny and many others. You were family to us.
A few special memories for us is that you were at the hospital when our son was born. You and Ginny also hosted many Friends Christmas’s, those were very special times full of laughter and love.
Wishing Val’s family and friends comfort at this time.

I worked with Valerie, or Val as everyone called her at Gulf Canada for 15 years. She was a fun, friendly, smart and caring person. I worked with her for 15 years, she was unfailingly positive and giving. We hadn't seen her in far too long but we'll miss her, just knowing she was around made the world a better place.
So long Val - we'll miss you and will keep you in our hearts forever.
