Obituary of Josephine Marie Harvey

April 10, 1936 – Flin Flon, Manitoba

February 17, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Josephine Marie Harvey, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the age of 87 years.

Josephine was born in Flin Flon, MB, on April 10, 1936. She graduated from the Brandon School of Nursing with a degree in Pediatric Nursing. In 1958, She moved to Calgary, AB, where she married Joseph Maurice Stephen Harvey. Josephine and Stephen were later divorced in 1983.

Josephine accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of being a nurse at the Calgary General Hospital. She was one of the founding members of the F.L.C. Outdoor Club and particularly loved the hiking and birding. Josephine had a passion for gardening and was an avid knitter.

She will be most remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Josephine is survived by her daughter Tracy, son Michael, and daughter-in-law Dyann, of Calgary, AB, and her four grandchildren, Beau, Alycia, Jacob, and Raina of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her sister Judy McDole, and brother-in-law Gerald McDole, of Mississauga, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Josephine was predeceased by her son Jeffery Alan, ex-husband Joseph Maurice Stephen Harvey, and her parents, Murray and Hazel Hogg.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
