Condolences
Worked many years with Bernie at head quarters. Was an easy going very good person. Will miss his humor and smile. Remember one of his sayings, mentioning strange people at calls ( or in the Fire Hall) " Well there is a Weird Sandwich!" RIP my friend!!
RIP my friend, Bernie Klatt, Classmate, B shifter, and friend. Some of our best times we're at the Big House (#16 firehall) in the early 80's. Chef Jim Bailly cooking , floor hockey in the gym and an easy tour (16 squad) Hopefully Mike Wilson (Mikey) is not slashing you from behind with his darn hockey stick. Keep your head up, 1st one into the corner gets the puck and none of your darn golf shots. RIP Bernie , miss you already. Paul Graf
Today I travelled through Banff and thought of Bernie and how happy he was there. He knew every inch from as far back as his days as a tour bus driving as well as volunteering at the celebrity events. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to the family.
I will always remember Bernies unique sense of humour. Condolences to the Klatt family.
Grandpa B, my bestfriend. I was so beyond lucky to share such a strong bond with my grandpa from day one. He taught me everything, and is the reason I am the woman I am today. Grandpa was the funniest kindest soul. He was there making memories with me from riding a bike, teaching me to ski, to quad, and at every event and occasion. I will miss you so deeply for the rest of my life. I love you, see you again someday ❤️
I had many opportunities to chat with Bernie over the years and noted he was an easy-going man with a lot of knowledge that he was willing to share with a relatively new firefighter. He always had a smile on his face and time to answer my questions. You will be missed my friend. My sincere condolences to your family and other friends.
Uncle Bernie, you leaving us was such a shock. We spent so many holidays, celebrations and birthdays with you. You lived a full life of constant adventure and always had so many stories to share with us. Your wild stories, your funny stories and even your shocking stories will forever be with us. You always helped so many people and were a friend to all who came into your life. We are so heartbroken and will miss you so much.
Xoxo

I always enjoyed the chats I had with Bernie when he worked out of old #27, he was a really good person. Condolences to Bernie's family.
I will always remember Bernie as a quieter man when I saw him around the halls of the old FPB building, but always had a smile ready for you when you cracked a joke in greeting. I regarded him as the 'elder statesman' at all those celebrity ski events up in Banff and Lake Louise while us younger guys were running around all over the place not only because we had him to thank for being there, but also because he was all about business in making sure the job was getting done. But when it was time to relax, I would always see him just enjoying a cigar.
My deepest condolences to his family...rest in peace, Bernie.
