It is with deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of our brother and father, James “Jim” Tetz, of Calgary, AB, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 80 years. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Tetz (nee Fraser), on January 19, 2024.

Jim married Marjorie in 1982. He was born in Acme, AB, on February 23, 1943. He was a Leading Aircraftsman in the Royal Canadian Air Force Reserves (RTTP) and Auxiliary – Aero Engine Technician Group 1 from 1959-1961. He then went on to work for Ontario Hydro, before moving to Alberta, where he went to work in the Oil and Gas field doing equipment installation and maintenance. In 1999, he received a certificate from SAIT in Power Engineering Fifth Class and then went on to become a building maintenance manager for apartment buildings.

Jim is survived by his children, Jaimey (Brenda) Tetz, Bryan (Christine) Tetz, and their children, Sydney, and Logan of Petawawa, ON; stepchildren, Kevin Fornwald and his sons, Eric, and Ryan of Kelowna, BC; Dale Fornwald (Jodi Hudson) and their sons, Tyler, and Connor of Calgary, AB; Patricia (Matt Zawalykut), Allen Fornwald, and his children, Levi, Joelle, and Katie of Calgary, AB. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Harry Tetz, Bob Tetz, Terry Tetz, Tim (Debi) Tetz; and sister Patti (Blackie) Keim.                 

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie, sister Sally, and daughter-in-law Jane Jochmann.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
