It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Douglas Leonard Miller on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Calgary, AB.
Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of Marion Miller (nee McClean) and the late Clarence Miller. He was predeceased by his father Clarence, sister Angela, great-niece Ivory, cousins, Clinton and Christine; uncles, Charlie, Bernie, Trevor, and Stan; and aunt Lorraine.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Sacha Marie Miller-Gallant (Jeremy) and Sydney Morgan Adrian (Kache); granddaughters, Journey, Jade, Kingsley, and Knightly; and grandsons, Knox and Jennings. He is also survived by his cherished sister Charole (Bill), his nephews, Jeffrey (Cassandra, Ivory, Raven, Jasmin, and Jacob) and Justin (Scarlet); his niece Jessica (Nick, Nixon, Zane, Roman, Brennan, Evangeline, Elowyn, and Elora), his dear brother Michael, his aunts, Bernadette (Glen and Brian), Gloria (Clinton), Kathy (Mark), Diana, and Susan; his uncles, Danny and Ricky; and many cousins in Barbados, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia.
Douglas became a father at sixteen and served as a deep-sea diver in the Canadian Royal Navy. He was an entrepreneur, a business owner, and a long-haul truck driver. Douglas, affectionately known as “Papa,” was a self-described “lone wolf” who fiercely loved his family. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
