Obituary of Richard Allan Kaquitts

November 25, 1946 – Mînî Thnî, Alberta

February 24, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Richard Allen Kaquitts was called home by our Creator on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

 

Richard was born on November 25, 1946, at the Morley Hospital. He attended a Bible school at the age of seventeen and graduated from Ernest Manning High School. In his youth, during the Calgary Stampede, he rode buffalo and was passionate about boys’ steer riding.

 

He met Maryjane Crane Beaver and had two daughters together; Krista Marcella Hunter, who is the councillor for Goodstoney, and Loraine Hunter, who works in income tax.

 

Richard loved to pray daily and was a writer, writing many songs.

 

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Krista Marcella Hunter and Loraine Hunter; Jadelynn (Cory), Jim, adopted daughter Tracy Norman, and his granddaughters, Adeline Mark, Tanya Mark, and Sofia Mark. He is also survived by his sisters, Nelda BigStoney and Sylvia (Gordon) BigStoney, and his nephew Eldry BigStoney.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Mary Ellen Kaquitts Lefthand (Mînî Thnî, AB) on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Mînî Thnî, AB) on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Mînî Thnî, AB).
