Obituary of Ida Zieffle

January 16, 1940 – Saskatchewan

February 26, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Ida Zieffle (nee Stang), beloved wife of the late Randy Zieffle, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the age of 84 years.

Ida was born in rural Saskatchewan on January 16, 1940, and moved to Calgary, AB, in her early years. Ida had a passion for playing cards, pool, and dancing. She relished in the moments spent playing pool and engaging in card games, surrounded by her numerous friends at Westbourne Place. She enjoyed spending time and playing games with her family every Saturday.

Ida was a loving mother to her three sons, Jim (Marianne), Bob, and the late Brian Lynn; and her three daughters, Shelley (Andrew), Heather (Kevin), and Crystal (Martin). She adored her four grandchildren, Kayla, James (Makenzie), Shaye (Jordan), and Alyssa (Bruce). She will be greatly missed by her surviving siblings, Willie, Leo, Beatrice, and Pat (Leo).

Ida was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Alexander Stang; and her siblings, Edward, Alex, Peter, Arnold, Larry, Joe, Mary, and Louise. She was also predeceased by her beloved pets, Tanner, Curly, Ginger, and Charlie.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Peter Lougheed Centre for their compassionate care.

Ida will always be remembered for her infectious energy and constant love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Always happy and loving, she was the best mom ever! Rest in peace, mom. Forever in our hearts.
