Obituary of Anna Tudor Symons

February 27, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Anna Tudor Symons, beloved wife of the late Michael Bull Symons, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
Anna was born in Colwyn Bay, Wales, in 1928. She went on to graduate with her RN degree from Middlesex Hospital, U.K.
While working overseas as a British Army nurse, Anna met Michael, and they married in Hanover, Germany, in 1953. They then moved to Toronto, Mike’s hometown. In 1958, they moved west to Calgary, where Anna continued her nursing career in a variety of capacities, ending her career in Geriatrics at the Foothills Hospital.
She was a prolific reader, enjoyed walking, as well as doing sudoku puzzles. She and Mike enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, cruising, and they especially loved visiting Victoria, BC.
Anna is survived by her children, David (Frances) and Debra (Jim Setla), and her grandchildren, Kathleen (Mackenzie Sailer) and Jeffrey (Barbara Buszka). She was predeceased by her brothers John and David Roberts; and her beloved husband Michael.
A Celebration of Anna’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
