Trey Heavy Runner was called home by our Creator on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the age of 29 years.

Trey grew up on the TsuuT’ina Nation and was a very outgoing person, who loved his family dearly. In his younger years, he attended schools in Calgary where he loved playing basketball. Trey enjoyed hanging out with his bros and had many friends in the Calgary area.

Trey will be remembered and missed by his loving daughters, Keyonna and Ashley Heavy Runner; his grandmother Joan Big Plume, and his grandfather Gordon Pascoe. Trey is survived by his siblings, Ashley (Richard) Leblanc, Sunshine Mistaken Chief, and Sootah (Hope) Big Plume; his nieces and nephews, Tamika and Empriss Heavy Runner, Dreden, Briseis, Joseph, Madison, Lexie, Lawrence, Brodi, Malone, and Amari; his cousins, Kathleen Big Plume, Nathanial Big Plume, Thalia Big Plume, and Sylis Big Plume. Trey loved his aunties and uncles, Lori Big Plume, Mama Cheryl Big Plume, Joe (Cheryl) Big Plume, Paula Big Plume (Jesse Starlight), and Tom (Sheena) Big Plume-Pascoe. He is also survived by numerous grammas, aunts, uncles, and cousins from Tsuut’ina Nation and Blood Tribe. And not to forget all his bros.

Trey is predeceased by his mother Charmaine Heavy Runner, stepdad Lyle Frank, his brothers, Taron Heavy Runner and Frank Big Plume; sister Sky Dove Big Plume, great-grandparents, Chief Dick Big Plume and Lucy Big Plume; his uncles, Benny Big Plume and Jeremy Big Plume; and auntie Nadine Johnston.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU at the Rockyview and South Campus Hospital. Auntie Audrey Pipestem for her prayers and everyone else who sent prayers and love. We appreciate your support.

Wake services will be held at the residence of Joan Big Plume on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Bullhead Hall (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB) on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuut’ina Cemetery (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB). A Traditional Feast will be held at Bullhead Hall (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB) immediately following the graveside.
