Obituary of Hani Zaki

March 2, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
Hani Zaki of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 63 years.
Hani was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, on November 18, 1960. After finishing university with a degree in Chemistry, he started working in the oil industry. In 1989, he immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He then continued his career in the oil patch in Calgary.
Hani met Marissa in Calgary and they later got married on March 15, 1997. Together, they had two boys, Jonathan and Benjamin.
In 2006, Hani’s job sent him and his family overseas. This was the start of a long journey of living in four countries over the span of sixteen years. The family enjoyed a great, once-in-a-lifetime adventure and many cultural experiences during this time. Yet, this lifestyle presented many challenges that only strengthened Hani’s relationship with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and his family.
Since coming back to Calgary in 2023, Hani has been involved in numerous acts of charity and enthusiastically participated in several bible studies.
Besides his loving wife, Hani is survived by his sons, Jonathan and Benjamin; his sister Sohair, brothers-in-law Bingboy and Cezar; his sister-in-law Celita, nephews and nieces Nader, Sarah, Carlo, and Caryl; as well as many other cousins and friends. His family adored and loved him very much.
Hani was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law.
A Visitation will be held at Bow Valley Christian Church (5300 – 53rd Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Hani’s Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church.
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Zaki’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service.
