Wanda Stinn

Obituary of Wanda Darlene Stinn

October 1, 1954 – Killarney, Manitoba

March 2, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Wanda Darlene Stinn, beloved wife of Larry Stinn, and mother of Kyle and Kelly Stinn, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 69 years.

Wanda was born in Killarney, MB, on October 1, 1954, and was raised in Belmont, MB, until she moved to Calgary, AB, in 1974. Wanda and Larry started dating in 1976 and were married in 1978. By 1981, Kyle was born, with Kelly following along three years later in 1984.

Wanda was happiest spending time with her family, especially when they were together watching her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Like a true mom, any player who played for the Blue Jays had a fan in her wherever they went, even if they no longer played for the Blue Jays.

She made a positive impression on anyone who met her because she genuinely cared about people. She always loved the quote “You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here”, from “Desiderata” by Max Ehrmann. This quote has always perfectly exemplified her kind heart and her belief that people matter.

In addition to Larry, Kyle, and Kelly, Wanda is survived by her sister, Donna Sallenback, and sister-in-law, Valerie Lowton; her many brothers and sisters-in-law on Larry’s side, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Annie Lowton, and her brother, Ed Lowton.

Wanda was so proud and protective of her kids, that she would want to make sure that kids in need were truly taken care of.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, 28 Oki Drive NW, Calgary, AB, T3B 6A8, Telephone: (403) 955.8818. www.childrenshospital.ab.ca.

There will be a private family service held in Manitoba at a later date.
