Obituary of Judith Elizabeth Pedersen

June 16, 1943 – Canora, Saskatchewan

March 8, 2024 – Airdrie, Alberta

Judith Elizabeth “Judy” Pedersen (nee Dalshaug), of Airdrie, AB, peacefully departed this world on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 80 years, at home, as she wished.

Judy, wife of Ed Pedersen, left a permanent mark on the hearts of many with her kind spirit and boundless love. Born on June 16, 1943, in Canora, SK, she moved to the family farm in Acadia Valley soon after. Judy and Ed met in school, and following their marriage, life took them all over the Great White North, eventually settling in Vermilion, AB, to raise their boys. Judy found great fulfillment as an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and dedicated her spare moments to nurturing her beloved garden on the acreage in Vermilion, which she tended to with unmatched passion.

She leaves behind a legacy of love embodied in her two sons, Robert (Jeanine) and Tod (Sarah); and her five grandchildren, Erik, Alexandria, Liam, Ana, and Ryan. Judy was also a guardian for many years to her “third son”, Philip Wiens. Judy was the eldest child of Evelyn and Art Dalshaug, and leaves behind her brother Ken Dalshaug.

Judy's memory will forever be cherished for her gentle yet firm guidance and the enduring love she bestowed upon her family. Her absence will be keenly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family of Judy Pedersen wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support and affection during this trying time.

The following is a direct quote from a letter left to the family by Judy: "I have had a good life, done many things, but best of all I had a family."

Thank you, Judy, for enriching our lives with your presence. Your memory will endure in our hearts. Rest peacefully.
