John "JTee" Tate of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 76 years.

John was born on July 18, 1947, in Calgary, AB. After graduating from Viscount Bennett, he attended the University of Calgary to pursue his degree in education and spent 32 years teaching junior high with the Calgary Board of Education. John cherished the winters for curling and the summers for golfing, achieving numerous club championships in both sports throughout his lifetime, often with family as teammates or as his caddy.

John is survived by his wife Noella Tate, children, Jason Tate, and Roderick and Stephanie Tate, all of Calgary; three grandchildren, Georgette Tate, Lawson Tate, and Isla Tate; and numerous extended family members. John was predeceased by his brothers, Lonnie Tate and Paul Tate.

His family, curling teammates, golf buddies, teaching peers, and many good friends will miss John’s quick wit and humour.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at John's favourite "19th hole" - Earl Grey Golf Club (6540 - 20 Street SW, Calgary AB) on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with John’s family at jteecelebration@gmail.com.
