September 22, 2007 – Calgary, Alberta

March 10, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Eileen Otter, of Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, with her family by her side, at the age of 16 years.

Eileen was outgoing, she made lots of friends whom she cared about greatly. She loved everybody, treating them like her own family. No matter who you were, she always wanted to be your friend and to hang out. Eileen liked to create cosplays, always going to conventions, and always dreaming up her next costume and sewing them herself.

Eileen grew up dancing in the Calgary Stampede, which she loved (She danced women’s traditional). She conquered her goal of beating cancer in 2023, so she could dance the Calgary Stampede again. Eileen was honoured for this accomplishment. She also enjoyed participating at St. Cyril’s School in the talent show and dancing in Tsuut’ina Nation Powwows.

Eileen loved playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, one of her favourites being The Simpsons. She enjoyed listening to musical soundtracks, her favourite being Steven Universe. Eileen loved sports and played for St. Cyril’s School volleyball team.

Eileen loved spending time with her siblings. She was a warrior, and hero because of her strength, courage, and bravery during her battle with Leukemia. Her bright dimple smile, and humorous, cheeky personality will be dearly missed.

Eileen is survived by her mother Alberta Otter (nee Goodeye), her siblings, Shari Otter, Corbin Otter, Faye Dodginghorse, Lewis Dodginghorse, Kyra Fox, Serenity Fox, Emily Fox, Monty Jr. Dodginghorse; her maternal grandfather Roger Goodeye (Lynn Pratt), grandmother Patricia Goodeye, and paternal grandfather Virgil Hoss (Esther Jacobs) and grandmother Freida Dodginghorse. Eileen will be missed by all her relations, who loved her, and she loved and touched deeply.

Eileen was predeceased by her dad Barry Otter, stepdad Monty Dodginghorse, grandmother Iris Otter, great-grandmother Barbara Otter; and uncle Kaylen Otter.
